Question
It was very nice chatting with you on Sunday the Barket and learning about the Carna4 product.
I’ve been doing a bit more research since we met and have decided that I will give your product a try with my puppy, an almost 4 year old Portuguese Waterdog. In his few short years I’ve tried many different types of high quality kibble as well as different proteins.
I can get his stools to a point of being perfect but that doesn’t last as he has a sensitive digestive system and ultimately I end up putting him on a cleanse-type diet and then transition him to another food choice in hopes that his stools firm up and going to the washroom is much less effort for him.
We discussed using the Duck protein formula you will be releasing later this fall but I am not sure I can wait much longer. He just had another bout of diarrhea and I need to make a change sooner rather than later. He is currently on Duck protein…I don’t believe he has ever had chicken so he should be ok with that protein. Unless the Duck is coming out soon…such as the middle of October.
Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to speak with us during the Newbarket Festival! We really appreciate you taking the time to discuss your dog’s nutrition and sharing your experiences with us. Thank you for looking more into Carna4! We are working really hard to educate pet owners and get more dogs onto a real-food diet.
Sorry to hear your dog has been suffering with digestive issues and that you have had such a difficult time finding a food that works for him. We live in an over-polluted and over-prescribed world and many of our dogs are paying the price for it. A cleaner, whole-food diet like Carna4 should really help your dog as he may just be reacting to the processed ingredients used in commercial kibbles. Additionally, the sprouted seed mix in Carna4 works really well with dogs suffering from digestive issues.
Sprouted seeds are very easy to digest and provide large amounts vitamins, minerals, and other micro nutrients that highly bioavailable. They also provide levels of probiotics, prebiotics and enzymes that are not only from natural, whole-food sources but also at higher levels than in any other dry dog food. Has your dog every been on an antibiotic? They tend to kill micro-organisms pretty indiscriminately. Your dog may need to rebuild healthy levels of digestive flora in his digestive tract. Furthermore, sprouted seeds provide good amounts of soluble fiber which keep the digestive tract healthy and running smoothly. However, the fiber does lead to a softer, larger stool. Carna4 does not contain stool-hardeners, like beet pulp. These are typically added to create a stool that is easier to pick up off the lawn but a softer stool is actually much easier to pass and much better for a dog’s colon.
Unfortunately, our Carna4 Duck formula will not be available until the new year. I think it would be best to try our chicken formula with your dog. Chicken may actually be better because it is a very easy protein to digest and not quite as rich as duck. Carna4 is available at Global Pet Foods on Davis Drive in Newmarket. The staff are very knowledgeable and should be able to help you find everything you need. You may also want to ask about Flora4 – Raw Food Topping, which is our new sprouted seed mix that can be added to any food. It may be an alternative way to provide your dog with the heath benefits of sprouted seeds. Flora4 will be released in the next few weeks and should be available to you soon.
Thanks again for your interest. Please let us know how it goes.
Warm regards,
The Carna4 Team
